Well, we’ve officially been in South Korea for over a year now and we have wrapped up our first teaching contracts and have started our 2nd year! Sometimes I can’t believe it! I wanted to take some time to think about what I’m thankful for, looking back at the last year.
With American Thanksgiving coming up soon….it’s the perfect time to post this!
Thank you Korea…..
Thank you for making it so easy for me to explore different parts of your country.
Thank you for the opportunity to learn and grow as a person.
Thank you for your gorgeous beauty!
Thank you for helping me realize that I enjoy working with children!
Thank you for the wonderful friends that we have met and enjoyed good times with.
Thank you for the chance to grow as a couple, in a completely different environment.
Thank you for giving me something to laugh about later…even if it was stressful, frustrating, and very confusing at the moment.
Thank you to the Goheung Paris Baguette employees for not judging me based on how often I come into the store…and for giving me freebies with a smile!
Thanks you to my co-teachers who made me feel welcome, comfortable, and happy on a regular basis.
Thank you for the ability to pay off my student loans!
Thank you for the ability to travel often, and to be able to explore so many places!
Thank you for the extreme generosity that so many Koreans have shown us.
Thank you for giving us another year to explore and learn!
There are so many things to be thankful for. While I have some moments that still make me go “huh?!” there are many more good things that come with this experience. I’m always grateful for my life in South Korea and the many positive things that come with it.
P.S. I apologize for my long absence. In addition to getting adjusted to a new school and city, I was dealing with dental issues for the last 1.5 weeks. I am now back to normal! 🙂
