If you have yet to visit Japan, I recommend adding it to your travel list! One of my favorite Asian destinations, I’ve enjoyed traveling to different parts of this amazing country. There are many reasons why I love Japan! Keep reading to learn more about why you should visit here!
It’s a Beautiful Place
There are so many beautiful places in Japan. My favorite locations that I have visited are the gorgeous gardens. If you love peaceful and naturally beautiful spots, you’ll love the gardens that you find here. In Kyoto, I highly recommend the Heian Shrine Garden – to this day, it’s the most relaxing place I’ve visited. If you’re planning to visit Fukuoka, trek a bit out of the way to see Yusentei Park. These are great places to relax and unwind as you take in the beauty.
The Food is Delicious
I love the food in Japan! Living in Korea, there are several dishes that I really enjoy, but some don’t do it for me. (Though I enjoy trying as much as possible in Korea!) While in Japan, I had the chance to taste many different dishes. I loved the majority of the food I tired! I really enjoyed eating okonomiyaki! Sushi is also one of my favorite foods, so that helps, too! 🙂
The Locals Are So Helpful and Friendly
Traveling throughout Asia, I’ve had moments where I have no idea where I’m heading. (If you know me in person, you know my sense of direction is a bit off!) Any time I asked for help, someone offered to help me! On two different trips to Japan, I asked how to get somewhere and was personally walked there by a helpful local! Seriously, almost everyone I interacted with was so friendly, helpful, and kind! This makes traveling so much less stressful!
It’s Weird and Wacky
I love how weird and wacky Japan is – and it’s completely normal! You’ll find mayonnaise on many food items, animal cafes, robot-themed restaurants, comic book and video game zones for kids and adults alike, and so much more. I think it’s awesome that so many things that might be considered odd elsewhere are perfectly acceptable in Japan.
Great Transportation System
When visiting new areas, sometimes transportation can be intimidating. Not in Japan! I love how easy it is to get around here. It’s also a lot faster to travel with inventions like the bullet train. Shinkansen, the high-speed train line goes as fast as 200 mph, allowing you to get to your next Japanese destination quickly. Using the trains and subways are my favorite ways to get around Japan.
These are some of the top reasons why I love visiting Japan. If you’re planning a trip within Asia, why not add Japan to your list? There’s so much to do, see, and love about this country!
