During my two years living in South Korea, I visited Seoul a lot. There was something about the bustling city that I loved. It has so many restaurants, shops, and cafes to explore and was very different than my first year extremely rural countryside living experience. When visiting Seoul, I loved spending time in new cafes and coffee shops. If you’ve never been to Seoul, you may be amazed at how many creative and fun cafes they have. Check out these 6 cute cafes for some insportation for your next Seoul adventure….
(Note: I skipped animal cafes for this post because that’s what most people talk about! There are racoon, sheep, cat, and dog cafes if that’s your thing! But these are some adorable cafes that don’t have live animals! 🙂 )
Hello Kitty Cafe
If you’re a big Hello Kitty fan or just love cats, this cafe is a must-visit. At the Hello Kitty Cafe, you can enjoy tasty beverages and treats with extra special touches—such as a cake shaped just like Hello Kitty herself or a hot chocolate with cocoa-powder imprint of Helly Kitty’s face! I love the variety of menu items here and how fun the whole cafe is—from the food and drinks to the furniture and even the napkins. This was one of the first Seoul cafes that I chose to visit.
You can order hot and cold beverages here. There’s a nice selection of desserts and they even have non-dessert options, too!
You’ll notice many couples here, as this seems to be a favorite couples cafe in Seoul—but fear not, I’ve visited more than once on my own because everyone deserves a Hello Kitty afternoon! 🙂
While there’s more than one location, I recommend visiting the Myeongdong cafe. I usually found myself at this Hello Kitty location after spending the afternoon shopping. Myeongdong is known for its many beauty and retail shops!
Address: 28 Myeongdong 4-gil, Myeongdong 2(i)-ga, Jung-gu,
They also have a lot of drink options here, too.
Address: 40, Dosan-daero 15-gil, Gangnam-gu
While this post is about the cutest cafes, you may also think this next one is slightly creepy! Monster Cupcake is a cute and creepy cafe that offers cupcakes that look just like monsters! Some of them are pretty cute, too! Each cupcake is a work of art and this shop is always experimenting with new cupcake flavors.
It’s easy to see why so many people stop here for a treat. The cupcakes not only look fun—but they taste great, too.
Address: 305-7 Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu
As you can see, there are many fun and adorable cafes waiting to be explored in Seoul! I hope you enjoy these cafes just as much as me. 🙂
