Having visited Queenstown, New Zealand, I have so many good things to say about this amazing destination. It’s so gorgeous. You can relax and unwind or spend the whole time doing adventure activities. The area has such a great feel to it. I could go on and on! Have you always wanted to jump out of a plane? Why not do it in Queenstown?! Known as one of the most beautiful destinations in the world, the views are incredible! Eat and Drink The Day Away
There are so many great restaurants in Queenstown! No matter what kind of foods or drinks you’re after, it can be found here. We enjoyed many burgers at Fergburger, and had several snack-size pizzas from Hell Pizza. On a particularly hot day, we took some time to cool off at Minus 5 Ice Bar! There’s drinks for adults and kids here — and you’re surrounded by ice sculptures.
Skydiving isn’t the only activity that can be enjoyed while in Queenstown. While you’re in one of the biggest adventure areas in the world, why not try something new? You can bungy jump, zipline, paraglide, whitewater raft, and more! No matter what adventures you’ve always dreamed of having, you can enjoy new adventures while on your vacation.
Visit the Kiwi Birdlife Park
Do you love birds and enjoy learning about wildlife? Spending the afternoon at Kiwi Birdlife Park can be a fun and educational experience, no matter how old you are. Here, you will experience so many birds, including the famous Kiwi! There are special tours and shows presented throughout the day.
Spend the Afternoon at the Beach
Though rockier than some beaches you may be used to, Queenstown Beach is a great place to spend the afternoon. Whether you want to catch up on the latest book or want to sit back and enjoy some beers with friends, you’ll enjoy the views at this beach area! This is a great free activity to enjoy while on your trip.
Climb Ben Lomond Trail
If you want to check out some incredible views of Queenstown, you need to trek the Ben Lomond Trail. At the peak, you will get to enjoy postcard-quality views! This was the most rewarding hike that I’ve ever been on. Be prepared by allowing several hours for this hike, and pack lots of water! And wear plenty of sunscreen — learn from my mistake! 🙂
Ride the Gondola
If you’re not in the mood or shape to hike, why not ride the gondola? You can check out some amazing views here and enjoy a fun ride to the top! You can also enjoy the restaurant and other activities. This is a great family activity.
Enjoy the Saturday Market
Every Saturday, there is an arts and crafts market. This is a great place to buy souvenirs from local artists. You can also sit back and enjoy free live music from local musicians. Market times vary depending on the time of year. Here’s more information on the Queenstown Saturday Market.
