While visiting the Windy City, you’ll likely be in search of dining recommendations. Whether you’re already planning to stay at the gorgeous Four Seasons Hotel Chicago or are in the area and want a delicious meal, I recommend dining at their top-rated restaurant, Allium. Located in the heart of Magnificent Mile, this upscale restaurant is the perfect place to stop and have a freshly prepared meal in a comfortable setting.
Executive Chef Sean Murray utilizes fresh ingredients and puts a creative spin on his dishes. It’s no wonder why so many people recommend this eatery! What I really love about Allium is that it’s an upscale establishment, so you know you’re getting quality ingredients and a delicious food experience, but the dining room atmosphere still feels quite comfortable and relaxing. You’ll feel at ease here whether you’re dining solo, as a couple, or with the whole family. The staff was so helpful, carefully explaining each food item and answering my questions about the menu.
My husband and I were visiting for our anniversary weekend and decide to stop in for lunch after taking an afternoon stroll in and around the Magnificent Mile shops. We started our dining experience off with their famous lobster nachos. The mix of flavors from the lobster meat, goat cheese, avocado, and jalapeno was amazing! The chips were extra crispy, too. I enjoyed the unique presentation of the nachos.
Next, we tried the heirloom beets appetizer, which featured beets, goat cheese, and a sweet vanilla dressing. If it’s not obvious by now, we’re big goat cheese fans. 😉 I really liked the dressing featured in this dish!
For our entrees, we had the wild salmon burger and the grilled halibut sandwich. Both were paired with their own sides. The burger came with spicy broccolini and the halibut sandwich came with a slaw. Both dishes were flavorful and a great size for a lunch portion.
After finishing our entrees, the chef sent out two desserts to try. I don’t know about you, but dessert tends to be my favorite meal. I normally pick chocolate focused desserts, but I’m so glad we got to try the peach tart. It was warm and crispy and served with delicious almond yogurt ice cream, which made for the perfect combination. Next, we tried the chocolate brownie bites, which were little pieces of brownie served on a stick (think: cake pops). YUM!! Both of these dishes were a fabulous way to finish our meal here.
Allium has an extensive brunch, lunch, dinner, and dessert menu. So, no matter what your taste preferences are, you can find something you’ll enjoy. There are also plenty of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages to enjoy. If you’re planning a trip to Chicago, I highly recommend having a meal here.
