Well, it’s time for another update. The last few days have been busy with more last minute preparations! On Wednesday, we drove to Washington DC to visit the Korean Embassy and Consulate so that we could apply for our visas. It was really cool being in DC and seeing all of the embassies. The whole process only took a few minutes, but getting our visas is essential!
We’re now waiting for our passports and visas to be mailed back to us next week — which I will admit I am very nervous about!! We need both of these documents before we fly out 😀
We also bought our plane tickets! We leave on Monday the 20th which seems so soon! As mentioned in my previous post, we will be spending 2 nights in Ichian and 3 nights in Gwangju before our orientation starts. This will give us time to explore, deal with jet lag, and get Japanese Encephalitis vaccines.
Booking flights and hotels and planning out transportation from each city has kept us busy. Other than that, we’ve been taking advantage of the chance to spend more time with friends and family — and cats!! We’ve also been running last-minute errands so that we have everything that we need.
I’m attaching a pictures (sorry, only an iPhone picture!) from the outside of the Korean Consulate.
I’m sure we’ll update soon.
