Six months ago, I booked a future trip to Taipei. It would take place during Chuseok, also known as Korean Thanksgiving. Last week, I was lucky enough to finally get to explore Taipei for 4 days — it made for a great little break from school. While in Taipei, I stayed at the wonderful Novotel Taipei Taoyuan International Airport. Located only a short moment’s drive from the airport — getting to this hotel is a breeze.
For this short vacation, my husband decided to head to Japan one last time. He stuffed his face with sushi and okonomiyaki while I had dumplings and other Taiwan goodies. I was lucky to get to travel with two friends, including Sam from Expat and the City — who is a fellow blogger.
Our stay at the Novotel Taipei Taoyuan International Airport was a lot of fun. When we first entered the hotel, we were greeted by friendly staff and a modern looking design and layout. Check-in process was a breeze and we certainly felt welcomed with our welcome drinks.
We were booked in rooms on the executive level floor — which was so worth the perks. As soon as I entered my twin room, I was greeted by an extra unexpected guest!
Isn’t he the cutest? Every room on the executive level comes with a panda in the room! I think it’s a nice surprise. 🙂
My room was comfortable and spacious. It included two twin size beds, a nice-sized bathroom, a desk area, and a couch to lounge on (which the furry guy above sat in!) Oh, the bed was super comfortable too! I am weird about sleep sometimes — but I slept great both of my nights here.
The bathroom had all the amenities needed. The soaps, shampoo, and lotions were eco-friendly — which seem to be a standard offering at the Novotel locations, as I remember this from the last hotel I stayed at in Korea. (You can read about my stay in Busan!)
So you’re probably wondering what perks come along with the lounge level rooms. There’s a lot to enjoy! Everyday, there is a complementary breakfast spread in the executive lounge. The breakfast was fresh, delicious — and the staff was wonderful. There is also a complementary happy hour, also in the lounge. This runs from 6-8 PM daily. They not only serve beers, traditional cocktails, and wine — but they also had some fun signature drinks to choose from as well. During the day, you can grab cookies and snacks, and coffee, water, or soda — if you choose.
Each executive room also comes with a Nespresso coffee machine. I think this is a nice touch!
The rest of Novotel Taipei Taoyuan International Airport also offers a lot to be enjoyed. The In Balance SPA offers a variety of treatments, there is a great pool area with a hot tub, and the gym is one of the larges hotel gyms that I’ve seen. There are also several restaurant options on site as well as room-service, making it easier than ever to make dinner plans.
The hotel also offers a shuttle service that runs to and from the airport every 30 minutes. This makes making your flight so easy. You can also take a bus to the downtown area directly from the airport. The high speed rail (HSR) line is also very close by — so you can get downtown even faster!
If you’re looking for a fun and comfortable place to stay while visiting Taipei, I recommend staying at the Novotel Taipei Taoyuan International Airport. All of my needs were met and the staff was wonderful. Oh — and pandas!!
