Like most women, you probably want to feel comfortable and confident in anything you wear. You have likely spent time taking the bra quiz to find just the right size and style for you, but what about the rest of your clothing? You want to enhance your curves, but if you have large breasts, you want to minimize them somewhat. Consider these tips as you prepare your wardrobe.
Avoid High Necklines
If you have a large chest, you should avoid turtlenecks and other high necklines. These tops actually make your breasts look larger because they shorten your body. If you like these types of tops, consider wearing something that is close to your skin tone so that the neckline blends into your skin. In addition, a high-collared V-neck or high-necked halter top because the “v” shape takes the focus off of your breasts.
Wear a Minimizer Bra
Minimizer bras are ideal for large-breasted women. They smooth your breasts and make them appear smaller. You can find minimizer bras made from fabric that does not stretch, giving you a firmer, more compressed look. They can also give you perkier-looking breasts because they move they give you more cleavage. Your breasts should look more even and balanced because your bra shapes them.
Opt for V-Neck Tops
One of the most flattering necklines you can wear if your breasts are large is a V-neck. These tops augment your breasts without making them look like a shelf or uni-boob. In addition, they move others’ focus down below your breasts. You can choose a traditional V-neck top, or find wrap tops. You can even choose a halter top with a V-neck shape.
Carefully Choose Your Fabrics
Some fabrics, such as chunky knits, satin and velvet can actually make your breasts look fuller and larger. Instead, choose fabrics with movement and flow, such as silky materials, lightweight knits and cotton. They should flow well under your breasts because they should flare a bit. Choose fabrics with a good drape.
In addition, choose solid colors. Avoid busy patterns unless they are small. Large flowers, horizontal stripes and other patterns can bring the eye to your breasts, whereas vertical stripes and smaller patterns camouflage your bust. Also, choose dark colors to minimize this area. You can also wear bright-colored pants and shirts to move the eye down.
Avoid Adding Volume
When you have large breasts, you should avoid clothing that adds volume to your front. For example, avoid ruffles and flouncy necklines. You should also avoid bulky jewelry that sits at your bustline. Instead, wear a choker style or a necklace that shows off your collarbone. Don’t forget to use your earrings to draw the eye up.
You can add a camisole under your shirt, especially if it is low cut, to create dimension and modesty. However, if you choose to wear a tank top, your straps should be wider to hide your bra straps and keep your breasts looking balanced. However, avoid short sleeves, especially if they are level with your bustline because they keep the focus on this area. Instead, choose three-quarter or long sleeves.
As you prepare your undergarments, such as an unlined minimizer bra, test out different tops to see how they lay and enhance your breasts.
